Crafts

This last weekend Ali invited me over to do some crafts. Friday we made some vinyl bags and then Saturday I made this bag for my school stuff. Since I don't have my own classroom yet I am using it as my overnight bag when I go stay places. It is super cute and I love it! Thanks Ali for the fabric!

Haiti Quake

I just found out that a friend of mine from High School was doing missionary work in Haiti. Katie Zook has been there since September. While browsing facebook I found out that Katie was found under rubble of the school she was teaching English at. Katie was found alive with a lacerated spleen, bruised lungs/legs, fractured spine and was transfered to Cuba and will be in the states tomorrow. I am so glad that she is alive and doing fairly well. She is such a sweet girl. It was be a tragic loss but she was doing what she loved. As of right now things look better. I am praying that she will continue to be strong and recover. Love you Katie. Thinking of you! To see more of what Katie did you can check out her facebook page it is: http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000272061851&ref=ts. After looking at her pictures you can tell that she had a love for the Haitian people. There are also articles in the Herald and Arlington Times about her.

Bring it on 2010!

I can't believe it is already 2010! Last year flew by but so much happened. Here are some things that happened...

  • Walked at graduation from BYU-Idaho in April
  • Made it through the whole summer without a calling in church
  • Went to my best friends wedding
  • Made a roadtrip/move to Utah starting in WA-CA-NV-ID-UT
  • Student taught in the 3rd grade
  • Officially graduated college in December
  • Looking for a teaching job in Utah
Over Christmas break I went home for a few days then went to Idaho and spent time with family there. It was good to see Gerrit and Ashlee and the kiddos. They are getting so big. I wish I saw them more! Christmas itself was good and it was nice to be with family and enjoy each other. Then New Years came and more family came to Gerrit's house. We stayed up all hours of the night but had fun hanging out and playing games. Now I am back in Utah trying to get settled back in and do the following this year......
  • train for and run a half marathon
  • get my Utah teaching certification
  • get a teaching job in Utah
  • find myself a boy and date him :)
  • have fun
  • try new things
  • get into better shape
I wish all of you a great new year and hope that this year will be a good one!
